Church-Our
Lord's House Whether you're a winter parishioner or year-round member
we need your help all year long. We realize in these economic times
that things aren't always easy.
Our Lord's life wasn't easy either and we all know how He suffered for us.
His house is as important to us as the White House is important to our
nation. It is as important to us as the Queen's palace
is to the citizens of England. Keeping up our parish for Him has eternal
rewards that extend far beyond the brick and mortar, the glass and pews
and the air conditioning.
Our only means of support for His house comes from all of us, you
and me, no one
else- we are charged with that responsibility. One could say the buck stops here or
rather in the collection
plate. Please won't you continue your generosity throughout the
year.
"The Prayers and Personal Devotions of
Mother Angelica" edited by Raymond Arroyo
The extraordinary saga of Mother Angelica, founder of the
multimillion-dollar Eternal Word Television Network and “the most
influential Catholic woman in America” according to Time
magazine. In 1981, the
year after Ted Turner founded CNN, a simple nun, using merely her
entrepreneurial instincts and $200, launched what would become the
world’s largest religious media empire in the garage of a
Birmingham, Alabama, monastery. Under her guidance, the Eternal Word
Television Network grew at a staggering pace, both in

THE SPILL OF DISSENT This

Gulf have been stained-- and now crude has made landfall, fouling the
shores of my home state of Louisiana and neighboring states. Over 100
miles of coastline have been effected. Wildlife and fisheries in the
region have been decimated.read more
BACK TO THE FUTURE Pope Benedict’s Liturgical Time Bomb
By Raymond Arroyo
While drafting the decree that would return the

acceptance to harsh opposition.” But what he did not, perhaps,
anticipate was the reaction (or convenient spin) of the pundit class and
not a few clerics who have minimized the decree or tried to dismiss it
as a curiosity-- a non-event that is likely to have little effect beyond

is centered on one fundamental concept: the simple act of creating
and sharing a meal can strengthen all kinds of
relationships. Founded by Fr. Leo Patalinghug in 2003,
Grace Before Meals has grown from a simple idea to a worldwide
movement, producing a book, blog and even a pilot for a TV show endorsed
by PBS Research shows that having
frequent family dinners can reduce the susceptibility of teens to
risks like teen pregnancy, smoking, drug use and depression. And
these benefits don’t just apply to traditional families or people
with kids. Stronger families foster stronger communities, and that’s
the goal we’re striving for–one meal at a time. Visit Fr. Leo's web site for more
